One of the best concert that I have attended was a classical
music concert called “A mi maestro” conducted by Gustavo Dudamel, this concert
was a tribute to José Antonio Abreu, a very important Venezuelan conductor of
orchestras and a founder of “el Sistema”, one of the first and most important
young orchestras national system. Abreu died on 24 March 2018 in Caracas and
this concert was carry out for pay tribute to his musical career and the
contributions that he made for the classical music in Latin America.
This concert
was played by the OSNJ (orquesta sinfónica nacional juvenil) and invited
musicians from the New York philharmonic orchestra, Vienna philharmonic
orchestra and Berlin philharmonic orchestra. The program was: Tchaikovsky
symphony n°4 and Beethoven Symphony n°7.
The concert was held on June 28th 2018 in the “Corp Artes” theatre. I was invited to the concert by FOJI because I’m working in a school in a young orchestra, and they bring me some tickets for some students. I went to the concert with four students and it was a very emotive experience because it was the first classical concert that my students have attended, they were moved by the performance, the big orchestral sound, the energy of performers and the size of the theater. Another important thing is that I knew the most of the musician, they are university classmates and watch them play with one of the best conductor of the moment and play with musicians of the most important orchestras of the world was a very beautiful moment.
Ooohhh I was there too, and it was fantastic. My favorite part was third movement by Tchaikovsky. It was impressive the way Dudamel conducted almost without moving, and I could feel a lot of music and energy
